Many parents tell me that they don't knit for their kids especially once they reach the age 6 or 7 as quite often the children will refuse to wear the lovingly slaved over (for many hours ) garments. And this has also happened to me with my children.
However I love knitting for them and they are always curious about my projects. So here is a tip next time get them involved from the very beginning, choosing the pattern, yarn, colour and perhaps anything extra to personalize the garment.
This 1947 pattern was fun to make but did require quite high levels of concentration. I was also working a bit in the dark as you can see the original picture of this pattern is not very clear.
